          Any girl interested in playing softball for the 2026 Marianna K-8 Lady Bullpups will need to make sure that they have a completed, updated physical form turned in to Coach Goodwin.  The physical form must be turned in to Coach Goodwin no later than Friday, January 9^th.  You will NOT be able to participate in tryouts without this form.  Tryouts will be on Monday, January 12^th and Tuesday, January 13^th at the middle school softball field located at the old Marianna High School on Guyton Street.  The tryouts will be from 3:30 to 6:00.  Players trying out for the softball team need to be at tryouts on both days unless previously cleared through Coach Goodwin.

CLOSED TRYOUTS

            Tryouts are stressful and players usually feel a lot of pressure.  Please allow your player to do her best without extra eyes and pressure from fans.  NO parents, personal coaches, or anyone else will be allowed inside the gate or around the field during tryouts.  Players are taught to be self-reliant.  You will be kindly asked to leave the complex and wait in the parking lot.

Equipment

            All players must have cleats and a glove.  If players own their own softball bats, then they may bring those as well.  We will provide a couple of bats for those that do not have one.  Catchers will need to bring their own catcher’s gear.  It is preferred for tryouts that the students wear appropriate softball pants and T-shirt for tryouts.
